Lovely Lilac

I was never really a purple person but recently its lighter shade, lilac, has me craving the color.

TH's favorite color is purple (I know) and it might just now be rubbing off on me. Pretty soon my love of pink will rub off on him.

Pink and Yellow

Hot pink, bright yellow, with a splash of green makes one vibrant color combination.

Mel Belle

My friend recently came to me for some idea and color advice for her upcoming wedding.

After a change of venue, she's back to square one.

A deep navy is the first color that came to mind. Then I thought paring it with a raspberry would be a grown up version of pink and blue. I brought in a light green to offset the rich colors and used gray because it's the perfect neutral and figured it would beautifully balance the entire color palette.

I'm picturing a groom dressed in a sharp gray suit, bridesmaids in navy dresses holding raspberry-colored bouquets.

Gray linens and navy napkins with raspberry table numbers and raspberry centerpieces.

A silver-covered cake with possibly some raspberry filling.

A gorgeous bride and one heck of a good time.

Happy Thursday!

My friend was telling me how into plum he is recently.

I don't think I've ever used plum. I should change that. It's a romantic, rich color we should experiment more with.

You in?

Happy Almost Friday!

Peachy Keen

I don't own too many peachy items. Actually, I don't think I own any. After yesterday's blog post, I've been inspired to get acquainted with the color. Just in time for Spring.

Music to My Eyes: DJ Shadow

This installment of Music to My Eyes is different. Rather than selecting a room inspired by an album's cover, I decided to go with an overall color combo. The colors red and brown seemed fitting now that it's Fall. Although it's still feeling a bit like summer around these parts. Lucky me.

DJ Shadow is a nostalgic listen. His first two albums bring back memories of when TH and I first started dating. And to this day endtroducing is by far one of my favorite albums ever, and definitely his best. Midnight in a Perfect World is one of those songs that conjure up chills. It's beautiful.

Happy Monday!

I'm constantly inspired by color. At times, driving on the highway even an ugly big rig can sport a unique color combo. I try to take mental note and incorporate them when colorful projects present themselves.

In most cases now, it's easier to save my color inspiration photos thanks to a little site called Pinterest. You might have heard of it. Wink Wink.

Currently it's the combination of seafoam and pomegranate joined with pale neutrals that has me saying, ooh la la. Throw in some natural elements like in the lower right nook and you've got yourself some great texture and color mixing. That view ain't so bad either.

Nothing like some Spring colors to wish you all a Happy Fall.

Don't hate me.

Pale and Minty

When choosing a paint color, I almost always want to select a pale blue, verging on mint hue.

It's soft enough to sooth and colorful enough to make an impact.

I love it.

Happy Wednesday!

A Pop of Color

Just the right amount of color pop can transform an otherwise neutral space.

I like a bit of color overload, but for the color scaredy cats, this approach is just as effective.

Happy Wednesday!
